This is what he explained on the e-mail:

"We are located in the AU Park / Tenleytown Neighborhood in NW DC - 4 blks straight west of the red line Metro stop, which is 4 stops up from Dupont Circle or 2 stops down from Bethesda (yes, I will send all the direction info as the date gets closer)."

Enthus me!

There I was, three weeks ago considering learning new things in aquarium hobby, maintaining a reef tank! This aquarium hobby has been an incremental hobby for me. I started with one small aquarium, now I have 6 aquariums from 5.5 Gallon to 64 Gallon.

About two weeks ago, I found a good deal of used complete Saltwater Aquarium systems including fish, live rocks and corals through Craigslist. I bought them, I wasn't usually a compulsive buyer, but with fish and aquarium, it was different.

The owner of the tank helped me to deliver and set up the systems for me. It took me the whole weekend to work on it. What I found after I set up my tank, my basement started looked like places with boxes, aquariums, buckets, nets and other fish tank accessories, nothing really to be proud of.

I remembered in session 4, I told the DC class: The old me, who were moving constantly, and having so many boxes unpacked. The new me,
enthusiastically opening the boxes and cleaning up my basement to make up some room.

Those commitment kept hanging over my mind as I didn't reach this goal in session 8. What ashame I was.

Last week, I spent my weekend with full
enthusiasm cleaning my basement, making some room for my new tank and its equipments, throwing away unused items, sorting out items for charity.

Now, I have a nice place to display my new saltwater aquarium, 4 boxes ready to go to the charit
y, a space to walk through, and less stress. Tomorrow, I am planning to drop the boxes to the charity place.

The action I want you to do is to share your commitment to others openly and you will make it happen as you are a responsible person!

Class

I really enjoyed the class and learnt a lot from you all. I have not only learnt the presentation skills but learnt the importance of the Human Resources principles we talked about. Hope we can all get together this thursday at Arlington.

Congratulations!

Congratulations to all of you for completing the Dale Carnegie Course and graduating last Thursday night. While I was at my society's President's Reception that night in Baltimore I thought about all of you and how you all have made a personal impact on me and my leadership and communications skills. Thanks for all that you have shared with me about yourself and your personal life. I look forward to staying in touch via this blog. FYI, our 2007 Annual Conference was a big success, and I used my new DC communications skills in my presentation to our Board of Directors and in our Annual Business Meeting to the 450+ attendees. Thanks Mike and Maria for helping me be a more confident leader. Take care!
